Mother Daughter Banquet Cake

I did this cake for the Belpre Church of Christ Mother Daughter Banquet today.  Their theme was "To Remember" (a vintage feel)  So I decided to do a damask stencil and an argyle pattern.

In the beginning

Well, this is my first attempt at a blog.  This site is not fully finished, it will be a work in progress.  However, I have been successful at putting pictures of my cakes on here. Yea for me!  Stay tuned for more cakes to come. Thanks for looking.

WVU Birthday Cake

A WVU birthday cake for a girl that just finished her first year there.  I tried to "girl it up" with some roses.  I just got a new toy, a WV logo cake pan so I used it on this cake.  Then I went "old school" with star tipping the logo.  Boy did that take a long time!

Grave Digger Birthday Cake

This is a cake that I did for a 5 year old little boy that LOVES monster trucks!  And Grave Digger is his favorite.

Easter Chick Cake

I made this cake for Easter.  It is a very simple design but very cute!

Baby Shower Cake

A baby shower cake for a girl at work.  They are not finding out the sex of the baby so I did the cake in the theme of the baby's nursery.

Wood County Christian Cheerleaders

Katrina asked me to make a cake for her cheerleaders.  She email me a picture of the back of their jackets and I went from there.  The paw print was gold sequins on the jacket.  I love the purple!

Baby Shower Cake

This cake was a new challenge for me because the lady that requested it told me that the girl the shower was for loves cream cheese icing.  Well I have made that before but not for the outside of the cake.  I didn't know how it was going to get crusty enough to smooth out.  Well I figured it out and sculpted the birds and nest and made the bow and butterflies out of fondant.  I love this cake it is so sweet!

WWE Cake

This cake was made for a little boy that loves wrestling.  And John Cenna is his favorite guy.  Jay went on the search for a John Cenna figure that I could put on this cake.  I was told the little boy was so excited when they showed him his cake.

Tristian and Josh's Anniversary Cake

Josh called and asked me to do an anniversary cake for Tristian and to keep it a secret.  Tristian was surprised she had no idea that Josh was planning this.  I'm just glad she didn't call me asking to make a cake for Josh!  Josh likes the "old school" cakes with a lot a lot of icing from buttercream.  So that is what they got.  Lots of roses and trim work.

Crown Rentals Cake

I made an anniversary cake for Keith and his business.  He has worked so hard at getting his business up and running and I thought I would make him a little something to say congrats!

Courtney's 18th Birthday Present Cake

This cake was designed for a girl that has wanted a present cake since she was 16.  Her mom told me she has been looking for the past two years for someone to do a bow and present cake and could not find anyone to do it.  That made me feel really really good that I could do something that she could not find anywhere else.  So needless to say I was very proud of this one!!!  And the birthday girl LOVED it.  I am doing her graduation cake soon!!!  I love making people happy with my cakes!

Cub Scout Cake

Pack 116 Cub Scouts.  This cake was for their Blue and Gold Banquet.  I sculpted their mascot that is holding up the sign (all edible) and the wolf and letters are fondant.

Cinda's 18th Birthday Cake

I made this cake for our friends' daughter that was turning 18.  We set down and she told me what she wanted for a cake and I drew it out right there with her to make sure I got every detail right.  This cake has candy basketballs, music notes and trumpets on it.  The letters and the bow are made out of fondant.  She loved the cake and so did everyone else at her party.  I even got another request after someone saw this one!

Birthday Cake

This was a birthday cake for our friends.  They asked for dump trucks and ladybugs on the cake to represent each of the grandchildren he has.  They are made out of chocolate.  Yes I like to use candy molds too.  I try to made everything that I put on my cakes edible.  But sometimes that can't be helped because a person wants a certain thing that I just can't make edible.  When that happens I just make sure I tell them so everyone knows what they can eat and what they can not eat.

Super Bowl Cakes

Super Bowl !!!!!  Jay thought it would be a good idea to make Super Bowl cakes for people that are having parties.  Sure it was a good idea until I posted the Steelers cake on Facebook and people went crazy for them!!!  I did 13 cakes total in less than a week!!  And two of them were big sheet cakes!  Wow that was crazy!  But I loved it.  I was exhausted to say the least but I loved it.  Of course Jay helped me so much with them that I would not have been able to do it without him.  He is the most wonderful husband in the world!!

Third Class Cake

My third and final cake from my Wilton class.  I had a lot of fun doing the classes.  This lesson we learned basket weave, the Wilton Rose and other royal icing flowers.

Valentine's Cake

I made this cake from homemade chocolate buttercream YUM! The hearts are fondant and the piping work is buttercream.

New Years Eve Cake

Emily and I creating this cake!  Our first 3 tiered cake!  We had sooo much fun decorating it.  Emily sculpted the streamers, champagne glass, and blower out of fondant.  If I ever get big enough to have my own bakery I think she will be right there with me designing and making cakes with me.  She is very talented for being only 7 years old.

Derrick's Birthday Cake

Derrick turned 40 this year so I make him a little birthday cake (which was late) but it was the thought that counts!  Right Derrick.  This cake was my first attempt at using fondant.  I love using fondant.  I can be very very creating with it.  I make my own fondant and it tastes yummy.  So when people tell me they don't like the taste of fondant I tell them I make mine homemade and it tastes good.  I have got a lot of compliments about it!

Megan's Baby Shower Cake

Megan had a beautiful baby girl!!!  We threw her a baby shower at work after she had her so we got to enjoy seeing the baby and holding her.  This was my first official cake that I made for someone outside the family.  Everyone at worked loved the cake & loved the baby too!

Second Class Cake

Here is my cake from the second Wilton class.  We had to make a cake at the end of the four week class to decorate it with what we learned that month.  I got better at having a crumb free cake!

First Class Cake

My very first cake from my Wilton Classes that I started in November 2010. I thought it came out pretty good, but I hadn't mastered the crumbs in the icing yet.

Graduation Cap 2011 Cake

This is a graduation cake that I designed for anyone that would want a cake for graduation.  I can make to cap whatever your school color is.  This cap cake is $30.00.  I can also put the cap cake on top of a 1/2 sheet cake for a larger party for $10.00 more or a full sheet cake for $20.00 more.  The sheet cake will be covered in buttercream icing.
